FAQ

Common questions about Child Welfare.

Why is Juvenile Probation included here?

The California Child and Family Services Review and five-year System Improvement Plan are coordinated by Child Welfare Services, Juvenile Probation and the state; this collection covers Juvenile Probation only where youth placement, permanency and family support overlap with child welfare.

Does the 36.4% figure mean 36.4% of all children in Amador County went back into foster care?

No. This figure is a reported foster-care re-entry outcome for a particular measured cohort, not a percentage of all County children. The plan cautions that very small groups can move the percentage substantially.

Why does the plan also say 10% re-entry?

The 10% number is labeled the County Self-Assessment baseline in the five-year strategy table, while the 36.4% value is the most recent figure in a different performance summary. They are not presented as the same cohort or reporting period.

Has the Board approved the plan?

The supplied November 10, 2026 Board packet proposes that the Board review and approve it. The packet itself is not meeting minutes or a record of any completed vote.

Are there any CPRA requests in this collection?

Not yet. The Requests tab intentionally remains empty until source copies or verified response correspondence are available.
